Dear USNPAAA Member,
On behalf of the USNPAAA Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to invite you to Reunion XIII, February 12-14, 2010, at the beautiful Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. This is a wonderful hotel at a spectacular location overlooking San Diego Bay, as you can see from the hotel web site: www.manchestergrand.hyatt.com.
With close to 30 members already committed to attending, our reserved block of premium bay view rooms will go quickly. So I urge you to reserve your room directly with the hotel now, and return the attached registration form to us along with your check. Amazingly, the hotel room rate of $159 is the same as the last time we met at the Grand Hyatt, in 2004! Registration is a two-part process. First, fill out the form linked from the button below, and then follow the link above to register for your room at the Manchester Grand Hyatt.
You can fill out the USNPAAA registration form two ways. First, which is preferred, by saving it to your hard drive, filling it out on your computer, saving it again, then printing it, and then mail it to the address on the form with your check. The second way is by saving it to your hard drive, filling it out on your computer, saving it again (recommend doing it with your name in the file name, i.e. - smith-reunionxii.pdf, and then attach it to an e-mail to Dick Thompson or Jim Noone whose e-mails are below. If you use this method, you still need to send your check to the address on the form, with a short note that the registration form has been sent via email.
To break even on costs, the registration fee is $209 per attendee. For a couple,the full registration would be $209 x 2 or $418. Local members, particularly for spouses or guests, may want to register only for certain events. If so, there is a listing of a la carte prices for individual events on the registration form. You can circle the event boxes and add the total for your check. However, registering for the full package provides a discount over individual event pricing.
As with past reunions, hotel lodging must be reserved separately. You can call the hotel at the central reservation number, 1-800-233-1234, or directly at 619-232-1234, ask for reservations, and specify the U.S. Navy Public Affairs Alumni Association rate and the dates of our event. Reservations also can be made online at the hotel web site listed above. Our Group code # is G-USNP. Either way, the special $159 room rate applies for premium bay view rooms Friday and Saturday nights, and also can be requested just before or after the weekend if you would like to extend your stay.
One word of caution: we have a block of rooms at the discounted rate based on responses from a survey of members last spring. So please book your reservation as soon as possible to secure your lodging at this great rate. After January 1, 2010, reservations will be based on availability at the prevailing rate – about $300.
Please join us for what promises to be a memorable time – we all deserve a winter break. This is an opportunity for renewing old friendships, making new ones, and swapping sea stories. We look forward to seeing you in San Diego!
